Message from Christchurch Mayor Bob Parker:
Christchurch is proud to once again be hosting this exciting event on our city streets. This is not just a brilliant race – it’s also a fun recreational ride where cyclists can get alongside and be inspired by the best cycling athletes New Zealand has to offer. And even though this is a great race, it’s also a summer fun day for all the family. So come along, enjoy the entertainment and watch the race. With over 130,000 people participating in cycling each year in Christchurch, this event has become an important one for cyclists and Cantabrians – so let’s all get out there and enjoy the ride.
Bob Parker, Mayor of Christchurch.
Message from 2011 Elite Womens Road Champion Catherine Cheatley
“Christchurch once again hosted a top notch cycling event that would rival any worldwide. It encompassed all the things I love about cycling; challenging terrain, quality fields and mostly importantly an electric atmosphere. I wouldn't have made it up Dyers those last few times without all those crazy fans!"
Cath Cheatley 2011 Elite Womens Road Champion & 2010 USA National Racing Calendar Individual winner
